Hire a Veteran!

So today is Veteran’s Day in the United States and I’d like to do two things today.

First, here’s a huge thank you to all who have served in a branch of the U.S. Military. I stress the word all because each role is vital to military preparedness - from the most decorated generals and admirals to enlisted personnel serving meals and ensuring logistics excellence. As you know, I like to shine a light on the balancing acts we play. There is none greater than the balance between living in harmony on our pale blue dot and the need to show strength to bad actors who want to disrupt collaboration and peace for personal or ideological gain.

Second, here’s a reminder to hiring managers everywhere to hire veterans. Why? Veterans are resilient, they know how to persevere, they understand collaboration and teamwork, they’ve acquired valuable skills from one of the best training and human development organizations on the planet. Most importantly, they have demonstrated coachability and know the importance of lifelong learning and continuous improvement.

To all the veterans out there, thank you for your service!
